THE PUBLICATION

Editorial policy and methodology

Published 2 November 2026

Our job is to make a game’s premise and trade-offs easier to understand. Readers should be able to distinguish an official fact, our interpretation and something we have not tested.

The research basis

The launch articles use official Steam product listings as primary sources. We check the developer, publisher, desktop-system availability and release information against the listed edition. Store wording, edition names and platform support can change, so each article records its source-check date and includes a direct source link.

These are source-based editorial analyses. They are not reports of completed playthroughs, interviews or hardware benchmarks. They are prepared with AI assistance; no personal play hours, fabricated quotations, review copies or named expert credentials are asserted. An inference about design is presented as interpretation, rather than an event we personally observed in a play session.

What a review contains

Each article discusses the central mechanic, the kind of player it may interest, practical trade-offs and a useful way to approach the published premise. Reasons to consider a game sit alongside reasons to hesitate. We avoid numerical scores, star ratings and aggregate ratings because the current method does not provide a defensible measurement for them.

Images and external links

Locally served official store artwork and screenshots illustrate the particular game being discussed. Captions identify their origin. They are not presented as our own captures, evidence of a purchase or evidence of a developer relationship. Rights concerns can be sent to our contact address for review.

External product links are editorial references, not affiliate links. There is no paid placement or sponsored review in the launch collection. If that changes, the affected material and these policies should be updated before publication.

Corrections and changes

Email a page URL, the disputed detail and a reliable supporting source. We will assess the evidence and correct an error where appropriate. A substantive correction should explain what changed; a date should not be refreshed merely to make an unchanged article look new. No guaranteed response time is promised.

How to use the verdict

Our conclusions are recommendations about fit, not promises that you will enjoy a game or that it will run on a particular device. Check current requirements, content information and edition details with the seller. Your own accessibility needs and preferences deserve more weight than an editorial summary.
